Yes, today marks five precious years since the Eternal and Almighty God brought Alex back to life after he had been dead for 20 minutes. HALLELUJAH!
Five years ago, I received a call that shook me and changed my life completely. The voicemail message said, “Angeles, call me as soon as you hear this message. Alex has been hurt and transported to the hospital.”
My son had been shot in the head! I didn't know that yet, but I felt that he was struggling between life and death. I fell to my knees before the Almighty God, asking and crying out for mercy, reminding Him that I had placed him in His hands. He heard my prayer and saw my tears; and in His infinite love and mercy, He spoke to my heart, letting me know that my son would be okay!
Now when I look back, even though it has been five years of struggles and trials, I would not change anything that has happened because that is how I was able to get to know the Almighty God I serve much better. And I have been able to experience firsthand His infinite love and mercy by witnessing the great miracles He has done in my son's life and in our family. PRAISE BE TO THE LORD!
I always knew that Alex was set apart for Christ and that God had plans for him, and even long before my son came to the Lord, I just to tell him so. And God confirmed his calling through a sister in Christ we met one day, whom we had never seen before and have never seen since. But I remember very well that day, May 28, 2021 (it had not even been four months since what had happened to him). These were the words she said to him:
"Alex, in two years you will be walking and talking well. The Lord will use you powerfully to bring the gospel to many people. Everything you have experienced will serve you well; the Lord will use it to speak to many souls. Everyone from the youngest to the oldest will listen to you, but especially young people between the ages of 16 and 25. You will tell them that CHRIST IS COMING, and that they must repent and seek the Lord so that they will not be left to receive the wrath of God that will come upon the earth."
Wow! When I heard those words, I felt my back and head grow warm. God's presence was so strong at that moment that I knew those words came from the Lord to confirm to Alex what I had been telling him. At that time, my son still couldn't speak well and was still in a wheelchair.
Two years passed...and just as the Lord had promised, Alex was already speaking well and walking without even needing a cane. For God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. ~ Numbers 23:19
Now five years have passed, and the Lord has been preparing my son for the plans He has for him. This last year has been difficult because we have been far from our family since Alex had to undergo emergency surgery; and in less than a year, he has had four more surgeries on his head. It has not been easy, but we know that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
This time, although away from our family and the ministry God called us to in Mexico, has served to continue preparing him, and a few days ago, he had his first sermon for the glory of God! It was a service at home, a day when we couldn't attend church due to inclement weather, but it was a great blessing. And although Alex did not remember what that sister in Christ had told him years ago, the title of his first sermon was precisely “CHRIST IS COMING SOON.” Hallelujah. God is never wrong; He always confirms the calling. And whom He calls, He supports and prepares. Thank you, my Lord!
I know that God will do great things in the life and ministry of my son Alex—to continue glorifying His name and because of His love for all souls. So that people will hear the message of salvation through this testimony of power in Christ Jesus.
I thank my Heavenly Father with all my heart for what He has done and will continue to do in the life of my son Alex...who is and will continue to be an instrument set apart for Christ!
PRAISE AND GLORY TO THE LORD FOREVER! Amen.
